Mr.Nicoll and Mr. Barrow discussed the proposed economic survey in the new territories with Mr.Surridge and myself on the 4th April. A note of the meeting is at (7). These papers have been delayed as I have been trying to trace a copy of Professor Firth's investigation into the life and work of the Kelantan fishermen. This is not readily available and Yesearch will have to be continued.
Mr.Nicoll suggested that a further letter should be sent to the Governor telling him about the meeting and also sending him a copy of Mr. Surridge's survey of rural life in Cyprus and of Professor Firth's investigation so that Mr.Paul Tsui could look through them and use them as a guide for his own investigation.
